TNT Sports and Channel 5 talk about their successful partnerships in broadcasting the Glasgow Commonwealth Games and the Tour de France 2026.

For the Commonwealth Games, TNT Sports showed more than 600 hours of live coverage across its linear channels and streamed on HBO Max, while Channel 5 showed the Games under licence from TNT Sports, delivering nightly highlights and clips across broadcast, streaming and YouTube.

Similarly, for the Tour de France, TNT Sports had exclusive live rights for the UK, showing it on TNT Sports and HBO Max, and worked with Channel 5 to bring free-to-air highlights of the race to UK viewers.

TNT Sports produced the highlights show for Channel 5 and received more than 500,000 views a day during the Tour de France.

In this session, Scott and Raphael talk about the benefits of this partnership for both broadcasters, as well as the benefits for the competitions and federations involved. They also discuss what kind of broadcast/streaming partnership deals we’re likely to see in the future to help ensure a broad range of fans are given the opportunity to access high-profile sporting events.
